The front stance (Apkubi Seogi) is the deep, long stance of Taekwondo poomsae. Where walking stance (Ap Seogi) is shallow and upright for mobility, front stance is long and low for power generation. The deep knee bend of the front leg and the extended rear leg together create a stable, rooted base. Most reverse punches and many blocks in intermediate poomsae are delivered from front stance, leveraging body weight and grounding to maximize force.
