The reverse punch (Bandae Jireugi) is one of the most powerful hand techniques in Taekwondo because it uses the full rotation of the hips to generate force. The "reverse" refers to the fact that the punching hand is on the opposite side to the lead foot — in left walking stance, the right hand punches. This cross-body motion allows hip and shoulder rotation to amplify the punch well beyond what an arm-only strike can achieve.
