The triangle choke (Sankaku Jime in judo) is a blood choke executed with the legs. One of the opponent's arms is trapped inside the leg triangle while the other is outside — the asymmetry is what makes the choke work. The thigh presses against one side of the neck while the opponent's own trapped shoulder presses against the other, compressing both carotid arteries and cutting off blood flow to the brain. A properly applied triangle causes unconsciousness in seconds if not released.
